SPAIN is many countries all rolled into one therefore the culture in Spain is very varied and interesting.
Cataluña Bordering France to the north, Aragón to the west, the Valencia region to the south and the Mediterranean along its eastern coast, Catalunya is composed of four provinces: Lleida, Tarragona, Girona and Barcelona. This is a land of extraordinary contrasts. Flatter toward the south, where vineyards and olive groves are concentrated, jaggedly rocky along the stunning Costa Brava, and reaching soaring heights in the Pyrenees, Catalunya boasts some of Spain's most memorable scenery. You will find excellent skiing, national parks, and charming villages in the Pyrenees, and international holiday playgrounds along the Mediterranean.

Cantabria is Spain's smallest region, the sights and contrasts it affords are quite remarkable, from its magnificent coastline, splendid beaches and small Old World ports along the Bay of Biscay, to its four major mountain ranges, its world famous prehistoric caves, its gentle, lushly green valleys, and its lovely seaside capital of Santander.
Madrid is a city meant for walking. Stroll through verdant, peaceful Retiro Park, admire the city's monumental plazas and fountains, visit the Plaza Mayor -a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture- and Madrid's opulent Royal Palace. You can of course spend several days just seeing Madrid's extraordinary museums, among them the world renowned Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofía.
Murcia yields the finest fruit and garden produce and is known for the intense flavor and vivid colors of its vegetables. Its huertas (family farming plots) and rice fields, both products of centuries-old Moorish irrigation systems, turn an otherwise arid landscape richly green. In Alcantarilla there is still an enormous functioning Arab waterwheel, turned by the force of river waters flowing from the mountains, that scoops up the water as it passes and deposits it in aqueducts that lead to the huertas. Murcia penetrates much farther into the mountainous interior of Spain that other east coast provinces, and it is in the hillier terrain that the fine Jumilla wines are made
Andalucía's villages -both along the coast and in the mountains- are brilliantly whitewashed and laden with red geraniums and purple bougainvillea that grace balconies and courtyards. Its cities are ancient and their old quarters -especially the Santa Cruz district of Sevilla - still evoke their Moorish and Jewish pasts. Fiestas fill the calendar all over Andalucía, and they are colorful and heartfelt events celebrated with typical Andalusian flair. Holy Week processions, the April Fair in Sevilla, the Horse Fair in Jerez de la Frontera, and Carnival in Cádiz are prime examples.
Spain's Atlantic shores and the huge plains of the interior have very distinct characteristics. Similarly, the Mediterranean Costa's change ‘flavour’ as they sweep down from the Pyrenees through the pine forests of the Costa Brava and Costa Dorada. From the picturesque orange blossom coast of the Costa del Azahar, past the stunning beaches of the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida, the landscape finally becomes semi-arid as we approach the Costa Almeria. Finally, in contrast, we turn west to discover the Lush green fairways of the Costa del Sol. Every resort has a range of unique appeals, so if you know what you like and how to find it, you'll have the perfect break, escaping from the hassles of your workaday world. And if the crowds get you down, it’s very easy to get away and discover the ‘real Spain' of each particular area.
